Secure Connect Gateway registration

Secure Connect Gateway (SCG) provides an automated health and system monitoring capability for your storage systems. It sends notifications to Dell Customer Support, sends data to Dell CloudIQ, and enables remote support where necessary.

About this task

To register a Secure Connect Gateway:

Steps

  1. Select Settings icon to open the Settings panel.
  2. Select Management > Secure Connect Gateway .
  3. Click Configure.
  4. Select the I agree to the terms of this telemetry notice checkbox under the INFRASTRUCTURE TELEMETRY NOTICE to enable the transmission of data from this Unisphere for PowerMax.
Clear the checkbox to disable the transmission.
  5. Enter the IP address of the Secure Connect Gateway.
  6. Enter values for access key and PIN.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • For an external connection (a direct connection between Unisphere and the Secure Connect Gateway - one connection is allowed per Secure Connect Gateway), first-time registration is achieved by entering a value for the Secure Connect Gateway IP address and your Dell online account login and password. If a Secure Connect Gateway server certificate has not been added previously, add the certificate by clicking Choose File. If a certificate has been added previously, select the Enable Certificate Validation checkbox.
NOTE: If you register a second time, no login and password credentials are required (fields to enter credentials are not visible).
    • For an internal connection (a tunneled internal connection within the storage system that is only available in an embedded Unisphere for PowerMax), select the use internal connection checkbox and enter your Dell online account login and password.
  8. Click OK.
